MIKE LOOS

Owner

I love O’Reilly Motor Cars, in many ways this shop is like having another kid. Much like a child, automotive repair is not simple. Here we have built a reputation for delivering on our promises. While the days of handwriting everything are long past, the goal of providing our customers with detailed information for them to make the best decisions regarding their automotive needs has stayed the same. My dream is to make O’Reilly Motor Cars the place to take your vehicle for generations to come, regardless of the changing industry standards we are here for you.

I love working at O’Reilly Motor Cars. Originally I found O’Reilly Motor Cars as a customer with my 2005 Saav 9-5 Aero, it ended up needing a transmission and I waited 6 months patiently for it to arrive by boat from Sweden (During COVID). One of the reasons I trusted O’Reilly Motor Cars with my car is because they took the time to explain that my car didn’t justify putting money into it, and most importantly asked what I thought. As a Saab enthusiast naturally, I had it fixed and couldn’t be more pleased with the results. The love for an unusual old car is hard to define, but these guys can, and that’s why I work here.

What brought me to O’Reilly Motor Cars was looking for a career change that still involved customer service, as well as being in an automotive environment. I enjoy working for a small business, as well as having a focus on customer interaction. One of my favorite types of vehicles are old Volvo’s from the 80’s/90’s. One of my main interests outside of work is playing bass & guitar, primarily with metal music.

Being a large Volkswagen fan I was very eager to join the O’Reilly Motor Cars team and be able to add to the forever-growing love I have for these vehicles, and even other European vehicles that I’m quickly finding similarities between the different manufacturers. Every day is something different here to take on which is what I have grown to start enjoying being that I find puzzles and problem-solving a “fun” activity. Working with my hands and learning has always been something I’ve enjoyed and I will continue to pursue at every opportunity possible. From mentoring a high school FRC robotics team, and building my own motorcycle, to mastering keeping fish tanks I’m always excited to see whats next.

Born and raised in Southeast Wisconsin, I have been involved with Automotive repair and Motorsports since a child and the passion has only grown. My first experiences as an Automotive Technician came from working at the Chevrolet/Cadillac and Honda dealerships where client satisfaction and service quality is the #1 Priority. I have my Associates in Automotive Repair and Automotive maintenance. Ever since starting with the O’Reilly Motor Cars Team, I have adapted to the standards, team values and strategies to ensure your European vehicle is repaired correctly and in a timely manner!

I like working Land Rovers, Jaguars, Volvos, and smiling in the face of complicated new technology. My favorite cars that I own all have V8s (2000 BMW 540i, 2004 Mercedes Benz E55, and a 2010 Chevy Duramax) and all of them have broken the 200,000 mile mark. Seeing European vehicles endure the test of time is one of the most rewarding experiences for someone who turns wrenches. My goal is to ensure more than one Land Rover that I take care of makes it over 200,000 miles. Someday I plan to pursue a career in the rap industry and be known as Yung Santa.

Having worked at a dealership in the past, O’Reilly gives me the ability to work on more than one make of vehicle and has given me a lot of training opportunities to advance in my career. I have lots of ASE certifications and enjoy the challenge of figuring out various issues with different vehicles. In my spare time, I enjoy time on the racetrack with my BMW.

Office Mom

O’Reilly Motor Cars found me while searching for a “shop mom”. As the only woman, mother of only girls, and caretaker of all the “boys” my favorite part of working here is everyone getting along. From accounting to making sure we have snacks, I take care of the people here as if they were family, because they are. In my spare time, I like to read and make people smile, especially when the boys don’t see my humor coming. “That’s what she said” jokes never get old, just like me. Wink* Wink*
